Hi, my name is Rick. I’m a graduate-level intern working towards my masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at La Salle University and have previously earned a degree in Business Administration from Temple University with a specialty in Human Resources. I was lucky enough to spend the last several years of my previous career as part of a team providing coaching, guidance, and mentorship. I am excited to expand upon this part of my life and gain clinical experience in working with children, adolescents, individuals, and couples, particularly non-traditional couples. I have a strong interest in Systemic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I have a love of music and think it can move us in ways that we can’t explain with words.
I believe that everyone deserves to be happy, but it’s not always as simple as everyone makes it seem. I view our inner selves as a series of layers like wheels in a clock and with all of the stress, judgement, and pressure we face everyday, it’s easy for pieces to get stuck. I think this can get in the way of our thoughts, feelings, and perhaps most importantly our connections with others. I think we are all connected and that we are better together than we are alone. I see therapy as a non-judgemental, reflective, and safe space to explore what it is that holds us back from letting ourselves be who we want to be. You are the person that knows you the best, so my goal is to work collaboratively with you to see how we can unstick those layers. My approach is to meet you where you are in life, be curious without judgement, and give you the safe space you deserve to express your thoughts and feelings.
