Kayla Burroughs

Hello, my name is Kayla! As a graduate-level intern, I believe that building a strong sense of community and connection, both in therapy and beyond, will help clients to feel supported and empowered on their unique journeys toward healing. I view every individual as resilient, capable, and deserving of support. In my work, I take a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing the interconnectedness between physical, emotional, and social factors in enhancing overall well-being and lasting vitality. I encourage clients to explore how various aspects of life, such as wellness, nutrition, a supportive network, and self-care can contribute to a more balanced and fulfilling life. My approach is strengths-based, focusing on the inherent resilience and potential within each person to overcome life’s many challenges.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Human-Development & Family Studies from Penn State University, and I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical & Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Couple & Family Therapy at Chestnut Hill College. Through my training, I have developed a strong interest in supporting children, adolescents, and families as they navigate complex emotional landscapes, including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, and disruption within the family system.

In therapy, I strive to create an environment where it is safe to grow and evolve; a space where clients are able to freely express themselves, explore their experiences, and work towards personal growth. I understand that healing is a process that takes time, and I am committed to supporting my clients in making meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
